The splash of Jevil's theme, THE WORLD REVOLVING, is just the cherry on top. Queen and A CYBER's WORLD first play early on, and with introductions that marry music and gameplay in perfect harmony, and then they show up again and again and I LOVE it! The third recurring melody, that of the gloriously sleezy washed up salesman Spamton, culminates in my personal favourite track BIG SHOT a boss theme that utlises a memorable set of vocals over a far more dynamic rendition of the motif. Delta Rune Chapter 2 is no different in that it is absolutely a Toby Fox soundtrack that introduces a few key melodies and plasters them allover the shop. #Skul the hero slayer witch rule 34 seriesUndertale is one of my all time favourites with tracks building on some of the catchiest melodies put to paper and weaving them throughout the soundtrack to create a harmonious series of motifs that I am still to this day only just recognising in other tracks. I love his games, his characters, and most importantly for today's discussion - I love his music. Even more fun twists on that one in the sequel but I'll hold off there, actually I haven't mentioned any track originating from the sequel yet, so let me just say that Partners is a peak series musical moment, which is saying something when we have stuff like the final Trials and Tribulations cornered theme to contend with. Ordinary Londoners, Ordinary Lives probably has more waltzy-ness to it than it should for a standard rummaging around some guys house theme, and for the courtroom I've gotta throw out the Summation Examination theme for how its back and forth progressions gradually escalating shines a mirror on the actual gameplay segment itself.Īce Attorney is always one for taking a character theme and remixing it in a tonally different way, boy there's some great spoiler ones like that in here but to stay safer, Susato's standard theme and then the later music box rendition is just right in the feels. The suitably bouncy theme for obligatory little girl character (just Ace Attorney things) Iris Wilson has these fun sound effects in the background nodding to her role in gadget creation and scientific experimentation. I really like the game's theme for the detective Tobias Gregson, because it's so clearly riffing on the Detective Gumshoe theme from the original Ace Attorney, except we're far away from dinky GBA sound now. (warning note: youtube comments are gonna be spoiler city here) I was always a fan of the music from the Layton crossover, and this is like a spiritual successor to that OST at an even higher level as it blends the Ace Attorney musical court motif list with Victorian era England, and a dash of Japan to boot.Īs such the setting is enhanced and all done without sacrificing the usual snappy and concise musical loops the series is known for. Yeah it's two old games in one, yet if for whatever reason I could only choose the original GAA game here it'd still top the list, of the pair it does most of the heavy lifting while the sequel gets to finish in style. ![]()
